Jim,
There is quite a big road scene in Dubai, take a look at www.dubairoadsters.com The site has only just been put up, so bear this in mind, on average on a Friday morning 120+ riders will turn up to the group ride.
I am just off to the airport on leave as I read this. If you still have questions, or nobody else gets back to you (somebody probably will), then send me an email, I'm back in 2 weeks.
Cheers,
Adrian

I considering the possibility of a career move to Dubai with Emirates Airlines. I am also a
cyclist and this is a big decision. I like the idea of being able to really go ride on my days
off and I am not sure how it would be in the Dubai region.
Can anyone tell me about this? Is it possible for a cyclist to safely ride there? Do you pretty
much have to drive with a bicycle to the open areas in the desert? Are there serious riders
and groups to ride with? What about riding solo in the desert? Safe? How about mountain
biking?
Thanks for any answers anyone is able to give!

I would love to hear about the possibilities of actually riding a bike there in the UAE!
Thanks!
