Hello All,
Hope all of you
are fit and training.
I would like to
start from April 06 onwards BEGINNERS NIGHTS on the first Sunday a month in Nad Al
Sheba (please see the map attached)
Idea is to
introduce people to group riding and to get new people into the sport. First
meeting of the beginners will be on Sunday 2.04.06 at 19.30 o clock in Nad Al
Sheba. You should have a racing bike, lights and a helmet to join the group
ride. Distance approx. 20 to 40 km.
Some riders
approached me that they would like to train a group on Sunday and Tuesday
evenings.
My suggestion
for Sunday and Tuesday evening: we start between 7pm pm up
to 8pm with a group ride to warm up the legs and train especially the
group riding style with constant rotations (speed should be similar to the
speed for the first 35 km on Friday morning approximatley 30-34 km/h) after
that we could train in higher intensity for another 30 to 60 minutes.
Again the idea
is to introduce new riders to the style and rules of riding in a group.
I would like to
ask the experienced riders to give a good example of riding attitude during our
rides.
Please let me know
if you have any suggestions or comments
Hope to see you
there

The Muscat PDORC Duathlon will take place on Thursday April
6th 2006.
The format will most likely be the
same as in previous years, i.e. a 5.5 km run around the PDO loop (anticlockwise
direction), followed by a 16.5 km bike ride (3 times the PDO loop in clockwise
direction) and finally a 4 km run i.e around the PDO cemetary loop in clockwise
direction. You will be able to enter as individual or as a team of 2 or 3
people.
Entries for the event can be done by
email to Steve Hall: Steve_Hall@... or fshall@...
by Sunday April 2nd. Please
indicate your name (and team name), category and email contact details. Entry
fees will be OR 2 for individuals and OR 3 for teams to cover for T-shirts,
prizes and breakfast. There will be a registration session with hand out of
numbers at the PDORC Funrun on Wednesday 5th April. Late entries
(i.e. @ the funrun or on the day) will have a OR 2 surcharge, so please send in
your registration early as this facilitates preparation of lists and ordering
of T-shirts, number of people for breakfast etc....
As always, we will need marshals to
help organising the event, so do contact Jan Saeby or one of the other
organisers if you would like to help out.
Please also pass on the invitation
to people who are interested in participating but not copied on the email list.
As previously, the event is also open to non-PDORC members.
We look forward to seeing you on
April 6th.
