Hello Gang,
well one trip down, two to go. The trip to Johns Hopkins Cancer center went really well. Although, I thought I might have to stop and give Kim cpr do to her holding her breath during the drive through the Beltway in the DC area. The Doctors had really read my case history and were very informed when we got there. They have a clinical trial that is very suited to my case. It will have an opening in mid April that I can get in. It is a new chemo called"Troxacitabine". I would have to go to Baltimore for four days for a 96 hour infusion through my port via another pump. Then get disconnected, and repeat in one month. We would have to stay right there so they could do blood work at 24 hr. intervals. They have reduced price patient housing available so it wouldn't be too expensive. The hospital is right down town in the Inner harbor area.So lots of cool things to see there if we do have to stay there. So we will see what the other places this week have to offer before we make any decisions about what treatment to go with.

We had a great visit with my friend Nate Seymour in the Alexandria, Virginia area.  It was 55 degrees there. We did a 32 mile ride on Sunday.  We rode through "old Town Alexandria" to the Mount. Vernon trail, it is a paved fitness trail which runs along the Potomac river right to the first George W's house. It is twisty with some ups and downs and really cool wooden bridges. One of Nate's old Penn State teammates,  Sue George, rode with us,  she was an awesome person who is a former multi time Junior National Champion on the track. You would never know it though, she was very friendly and unassuming!

Luckily we had great weather for the trip unlike today! We made it home from Baltimore in a little over 4 hrs. and the dent in my passenger side floor board from Kim trying to apply the brakes isn't very noticeable! So we are off on Thursday for our tour of New York state, via home to Buffalo to Boston for our trips to Roswell in Buffalo, and to Dana Farber in Boston. I will send out another update when we get back.

That's all for now,
Dave Panella

If you knew you didn't have long to live, what would you want to do differently?
Do what you can to make positive changes now because your present life is terminal."
