Hello all,

First, we're switching into the sevens season, I do the same level of e-mail coaching that I do for 15s (unfortunately).  I basically need to come up with a summer version of my e-mail distribution list (for MT too).  Please let me know if you want to stay on the e-mail chain.

If not, no worries, you know where to reach me and save MT's contact info (mtodd@...), if you want to play in a tournament.  You're always welcome to practices or tournament whenever.

I know this is a crazy time of year, but we play in a sevens tournament in less than two weeks (May 23).  Sooooo....we are starting practice Monday, May 18 at Severn River's pitch.

For the first couple weeks, we'll be practicing Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 to 8PM up until the first or second week of June.  Then, we'll be switching to Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 to 8PM at a park a couple miles away.

Again, please let me know if you want to stay on the summer distribution list (Jackie/Iliana...of course, I know you're going to be on it).

For the rest of you, have a great summer, you'll be hearing from me in August.

INTERESTING PIECE OF NEWS - The University of Delaware and Shippensburg are both being moved up to Division 1....found that out Saturday after my match.  Unfortunately, for every UDel and Ship that gets moved up...there are equally tough opponents that take their place.  We still have a target on our backs, and the road to nationals will still be tough.  Make sure you're keeping yourself physically ready to play by September 1.

Lata gatas....congrats on a great year of rugby,
Jeff

Hi all,

I think I'm still stuck on Towson time.  I've been saying 6 to 8 for practices, it's actually 7 to 9PM.

We start next Monday, May 18 at the Severn River pitch.  The first practices will cover our three core defenses, basic offensive plays, general skills for sevens flow of play (philosophy/strategy), and play some sevens and other bastardized rugby games.  We play our first tournament in a week and a half.

We do not run for the sake of running....fitness is rolled into the stuff we do and the games we play.  We always start practices with a dynamic game of some sort, so if you're late for practice, you're missing one of the funnest parts of it.

Mine and Pete's goal is to build your skills to be better players in the fall, teach a bunch of stuff, have a lot of fun, but also win a boatload of hardware.  It'll be hard work at times, but we want you to enjoy your summer training and see you all thrive in the fall matrix season.

Again, 7 to 9PM for practices....yes, I'm a dumb*ss.  Be sure to let MT know if you are 80 to 90% certain (mtodd@...) you want to play in a certain tournament with Severn Women.  We're on the borderline for entering one or two teams in a number of tournaments.

Lata gatas,
Jeff
