Hello,

 

We did nominations last night for officers for the spring season.  I said it last night, OFFICERS are RESPONSIBLE for their aspects of running the team, they ARE NOT responsible for DOING everything.  We need a group of officers that work together with the team to make sure everything is done and done to the best of our ability.

 

Below are the nominations for each officer.  We will be voting at practice next Thursday night, if I can secure a Club Sports representative to witness.

 

Georgia and I do not have the time and interest in putting out fires and running around last minute trying to fix stuff (as some of you know....I am absolutely fed up with it).  IF you do not want to/cannot be RESPONSIBLE FOR (not "do" everything) the specific aspects of an officer's role.....REFUSE THE NOMINATION NOW.  If you want to be put in for an officer spot and weren't nominated, let me know.

 

President - Jackie, Unopposed

* * * Responsible for the general oversight of team operations.  Coordinates various activities including representation at Club Sports meetings. * * *

 

VP of Fundraising - Kate, Kyle

* * * Responsible for on-campus and off-campus fundraising events, and coordinating personnel for those events.  Includes advertising team fundraising events.  COACHES NOTE - If we went to Nationals, the team would be responsible for rasing about $6000 in ADDITIONAL funds to travel. * * *

 

VP of Recruiting - Fran, Grace, Jess, Leah

* * * Responsible for recruiting of TU students by coordinating coverage at campus involvement fairs, flyer postings, and other team awareness methods (web postings, newspaper, etc).  ALSO, responsible for recruiting of prospective players by visiting U19 teams, attending U19 matches, and communicating with prospective players. * * *

 

Treasurer - Alli, Sumpter

* * * Responsible for the general oversight of club finances.  Collection of dues by team members (and apparel given to them for paying their dues).  Production and submission of team budgets each semester.  Assuring that invoices are submitted and paid in a timely manner.  Coordinating team expenditures with the other officers. * * *

 

Match Secretary - Blake, Charlie, Denisse, Erin

* * * Responsible for working with coaches to fill out the team's schedule.  Responsible for submitting travel itineraries for all off-campus matches (2 weeks in advance) and submitting travel rosters (week of event).  MUST contact referee society and our opposition to confirm the match NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY NIGHT the week of. * * *

 

Equipment Specialist - Blake, Charlie

* * * MUST make sure that training equipment is at every practice (balls and cones at a minimum).  Check/maintain team's inventory of training gear.  Responsible for items purchased by the club that must be distributed to players.  Coordinating field set-up for home matches (even those in Baltimore at Severn River).  Submitting and confirming field and facility requests. * * *

 

Collectively, the officers make decisions for the team....every officer has a say in team expenditures and other items up for vote.  Must be willing to work with the coaches to advance the team's goals.  Again, this team NEEDS people that will be responsible for their specific aspects of team operation....Georgia and I DEMAND it.

 

Sorry for the long winded note, but I want to be completely clear on this....
