Holes 10 and 11 are now in the "C" positions.
Also I put out some pvc to mark the pin placements.
We also put out some brooms on the course. They won't last long, but enjoy them
while they are there.
Drew, Eric, and I went out and moved the baskets to "C" today.
Holes 3, 10, and 11 are still in "B" but I'm going to try and move 10 and 11
ASAP. We got poured on and the creek jumped up so we weren't able to move 11
and the lock on 10 wouldn't open and needs to be replaced. As for hole 3, I'm
going to attempt soon to clear the hole that has been started and put in the "C"
position.
Also we picked up some trash/litter today, so please be courteous and pack out
your trash, and/or take a trash bag to the course with you and pick up after the
people that aren't respectful enough to do it themselves.

I wanted to let you know that I received a call from PARA about the use of alcohol on the course. Â Someone had called and asked to have the trashcans emptied. Â They did empty the one on 13 and then reported to PARA management that it was most full of beer cans/bottles. Â As you know, alcohol is not allowed on park grounds. Â PARA has threatened to take legal action against those caught with the substance and even indicated that the course might be shut down. Â PARA also said they are considering searches of players on the course. Â
Of course I told PARA that disc golfers are not the only people to be on the course and also that there are more people playing who are not members in the club. Â I was told to post a flyer on the kiosk that indicates the club's position on this subject which I did yesterday. Â Â
Needless to say this does not bode well for trying to get a second course in Tuscaloosa. Â I strongly urge you to curtail your use of alcohol on the course/park grounds. Â If you see any non-members using the substance on the course please feel free to discuss with them our reasons for wanting an alcohol-free environment. Â Â
Also, there has been a lot of litter on the course recently. Â Please take advantage of the trashcans located around the course. Â If you see trash, please pick it up and dispose of it properly. Â If you are a smoker, please adopt the no litter policy as well. Â Flick your hot ash (and put it out) and dispose of the cigarette in a trash can. Â Please do not use the course or tee pads as an ashtray. Â
Good luck to those of you who are participating in the Mini tomorrow.
I was just looking for news about Collegiate Nationals on the PDGA website. Nothing has been posted yet, but there was an article posted last week to spread the word about it and Josh Maynor was in the photo in the background. Also, there was an article about BG Ams and they offered high praise of one Andrew Patton. Drew, are you related to this guy? Also, Jay is still clinging to a top 20 spot on the PDGA National Tour and he's the number 6 Pro in the State.
Congrats to the team for a 4th place finish. Alabama is the only team to have finished in the top 5 in all of the Collegiate National Championships. Congrats to Drew and Alex for winning the Doubles National Championship. Also, congrats to Drew for earning 2nd team All-American honors and the Long Drive competition.
Roll Tide, jon
Congratulations to Drew Patton for representing the tdgc and bama disc golf like
a true champ! For those of you who hadn't heard, he placed 3rd out of about 500
disc golfers last weekend. He's my favorite golfer to watch...
I left a brand new disc on 18 yesterday called a Striker. I threw it as a 2nd
shot and it was probably about 40 right and short of the basket. I didn't even
write my name on it, but if you picked it up I'd like to have it back.
Thanks,
Jay
So....let me give you some background....
I work for the architectural firm that is designing the new PARA facility in
Northport...so I have been pushing a new course within our office anyway...
...on a seperate note on a seperate project I ended up on the phone with Erin
Wiggins (Development Planner for PARA) I slipped in a comment about her using
her 'divine intervention' to help get a second course and her response
was...give me some numbers and any information that can help....she seemed
really interested...mentioned visitor's bureau help also...
If you officers are interested..email me at eric@... and maybe
this might potentially get MORE attention...
Also....Juergen aced 13 on 4-4-09 Saturday morning...Champion Boss..perfect
SHINK! sound....
Eric
Yesterday I lost a brand new white and orange pro starfire on #10 I think. Its
marked with my name and number so please call if you have it. Also, I found an
unmarked TDGC wizard in the creek by #13, so if you lost one there let me know.
I think Emily wants to play a few holes this afternoon - probably close to 5 or 5:30. Can you bring the Sharks and maybe a Groove out? Otherwise, I can come by the house and get them. Thanks, jw

Guys,
We moved the baskets to "B" yesterday, with the exception of #3. Hopefully we can get that lock replaced within the next day or so to play it.
Also I got some new discs in if anyone is interested. Got a couple of Grooves, Star Boss', and others.

I lost a bright yellow/green champion Orc with a picture of kokopelli on it in
the creek behind 11. The water was flowing to the left, and I couldn't find it.
If you or someone you know finds it, I have a monetary reward as well as a free
disc for you. This disc is very important to my game, and I would really
appreciate if someone would return it if found. If you get it, just call the
number on the disc. It's like the golden Easter egg hunt!
