Just added some pics or our antiques from the
state of North Carolina. These pictures are from the 99
pulling season. We did not pull in 2000. We have Made
some up grades since, and hope to have the new pic`s up
the first part of next year.
I would like to see one of these engines in action but the only big pull I get
to see the top guns in action is Louisville and thats only if we are invited ,
should know in a few weeks.
Hi Benny!<br><br>Try to contact the following

you: It runs like hell.<br><br>Kind regards from

Hi!<br><br>I have put some oldie pics on the
Pulling World website ( www.pullingworld.de.vu ).<br>I
will put on more during the whole winter. <br>For the
book I am working on ( Chronic about 20 years of the
german association ) we got A TON of pictures, and of
course not all can make it into the book. So the others
will be put on the website. I have already started
with pics from the late 80s ...<br>If you have
anything from the "good old days" that you think should be
posted there, just send me the pic with a few infos (
like on the site ) and I'll be glad to put them on. I
made that site for the FANS.<br><br>CU<br><br>Sascha
Hi!<br><br>I was told that I still have to work
on the website... so I hope I can keep the reports
and so on.<br><br>As I said before, I am in the lucky
situation that we don't have to be conerned for money that
much and can still tinker around with different stuff
as we are not in the big bunch of "buy and put
together V8 bunch".<br><br>Now that we caught up with the
US a little more, it is not that much "buy tractor
in US and win because it is ahead in technology from
our point of view".<br><br>I wonder how things will
develop here and if we are able to keep up with the US
guys.<br><br>CU<br><br>Sascha
Up loaded some FWD pictures I had laying around .
These are just a small portion of the pictures I
have. Some are trucks that belonged to freinds and are no
longer around, some trucks are renamed and still pull.I
will upload more recent pictures at a later date. I
also have some old photo's of some tractors aswell.
Sorry to hear that Sascha about loosing your
pride and joy in a website that you made look better
than most professionals and it being taken over by
somebody who probably doesn't hve a clue about
pulling.<br><br>I have been a big pulling fan for all my life. My
father was a national champion in 1982 in the mod 4x4
class. This is when it was fun, no fire suits, helmets,
all that crap that is supposed to be for safety. The
only fires I saw back when dad was pulling was ol'
Chester Prins and his Turbine Powered JET SET 4x4 truck,
The War Wagon Turbine powered truck, Art Arfons and
his son Tim with Green Monster and Tim's tractor.
Chester had problems with his turbine when he first
started, but when it ran it really went down the track
like a SMFWD truck.<br><br>I remember Rambunctious mod
tractor with twin Allisons and 3 oldsmobile engines
stacked on top of them and the driver was on the front of
the tractor. That was a cool sight. There was so many
good thigs in pulling back then when you had to use
your head and modify and adjust and tinker around to
get the best pull. Now what you have to have is lots
of money, sponsers, and a team. Back when dad
started, he took the old 71 chevy farm truck and perts
from an old international military truck and went from
there. Everything was old stuff from here and there and
made into a pulling machine with lots of thought and
testing. Now the most affordable way to pull is to buy a
used truck or tractor and go from there. You can't
afford to pull anymore in any division whether it be
gardentractors, antiques, trucks and big tractors. I like to see
a lot fo the brush pulls pop up and take off that
have no sanctioning like NTPA where they change the
rules mroe often than you change underwear. Pullers
cannot afford to do that all the time. That is one
reason that my dad got out 3 years later after he won
his championship.<br><br>I like to see pulls with
strict rules that don;t allow a lot of $$$$$$
modifications and you have to make due with what little you
have to work with. I would like to get into the
prostock 4x4 class with dads old truck if I had a set opf
rules and see what would it take to pull it in that
class. Anyone havea set of rules?????
Hi!<br><br>I have been watching 2500 (!) pictures
of European Tractor Pulling from 1977 to 1987 this
afternoon. Now I am stuck in memories from the good old
days.<br>My Dad told me I saw my first Pull in 1978, but I
can't remember it anymore, as I was about 4 years old
by then.<br>Dad had been into Pulling since the late
70s ( I still have pics here from a Pull in Turkey
Troot in 1977 that he visited when he was working as a
test engineer for CLAAS, doing harvest tests in the US
).<br>Anyway.. even though I am still in Pulling ( in fact more
than ever ) it starts to get on my nerves. Too much
stupid politics from people who have no clue about the
things that really count for the competitor and only
have the $ sign in their eyes.<br><br>If I would not
work on the "front line" of Pulling where we still
have to develop new things and you still have to use
your brain, I think I would quit it soon. I recently
got involved in the Methanol Griffon development by a
team next town and wonder how "my" fuel system ( with
heavy support by Wayne Longnecker ) will work
out.<br>It's about the only thing I care about at the
moment.<br>If the only change you can make on your tractor
anymore is piston design, it get's boring.<br><br>I need
bigger thrills to keep me going.<br><br>Anyway.. I miss
those old days a lot, when it was not about money but
being smart ( if we would have known what we know today
...lol ). When people like Gerd Pott ( the german E.J.
Potter ) ran with their crazy and weird
tractors.<br><br>But on the other hand, if I would go out now...what
should I do with this life?<br>I have not learned
anything else but Tractor Pulling in my life and would
miss the people a lot.<br>I could as well hang me on
the next tree if there is no more Pulling for
me.<br><br>I got a little pissed yesterday when I heard that
the website of our team will be taken over by
professionals. Heck.. when I built it nobody cared about a web
site for our team.<br>I've turned it into one of the
most popular Team sites on the web in the past years
and now it has to be changed because sponsonr XY
wants it to look this or that way. <br>Doesn't this
suck ?????<br><br>Anyway...<br>I am working on a book
about the history of tractor pulling in germany and
hope that I can get a lot of the feeling and spirit of
the early days in it.<br><br>The pictures that won't
make it into the book, I will put on the net somewhere
( probably Pulling World
site).<br><br>CU<br><br>Sascha
Thanks Sascha for the reply, looking foward to
seeing or hearing about Mikes new tractor coming out.I
remember Mike from when we used to run the OSTPA
Circut(B&M Pullers)Mike might remember them,i was on the pit
crew as my neighbor and now landlord had a 3 engined
(440 Dodge)mod at that time, remember all the allisons
running back then,like Neil Wagner,the Silver Streak,Joe
Ruff and the Blue Angel turbine,<br>Also can't forget
Wheeler Rittenger and the"Outcast"had a hard time beating
them, but every now and then lucked out and got lucky, boy
the god ol 70's and early 80's,man i'm telling my
age.Even met Dusty Arfons when she was single and my
age,to o damm shy to get aquainted, but never had a
chance anyways. The good ol Days of Good Pulling on the
Ohio State Circut.Damm i wish i could go back to the
old days LOL.Thanks again for the info on EJ,"Rockin
Randal" as everyone calls me around here.
Hi!<br>I read the book and laughed my ass off. It
is really worth buying it ( Especially if you know
E.J. in real )...<br>You can simply go to
www.ejpotter.com to order book or video. EJ's Email address is
also there. <br><br>For new about Holden check out the
news on my website at
"www.pullingworld.de.vu"<br><br>CU<br>Sascha
Has anyone read or seen the book about EJ that
was advertised in the Puller magazine about a yr
ago?.Is it any good?.I was thinking of ordering it
then, but put it off,and with the talk of him now brought
it back up.Also does anyone have the address or Ph
number to order the book.I gave all my old magazines
away.<br> Also back during the winter in the Puller
magazine when they ran that 3 part article on the Allison
motor, there was talk that Mike Holden might be coming back on
the circut with a triple Allison, has anyone heard any
news about that?.I wished i had kept those issues, was
a good right up on the subject.Still remember
seeing Holdens 4 Allisons in the heavy Mod class.Have a
good one Randy
You are right.<br>E.J. ran a 24 Cyl allison ( a
V3420 ). It lacked the original supercharger and was
instead exuipped with the first stage of the "Aux stage"
set up.<br>So.. in fact it would be a 2 motor
tractor. E.J. said it barely made the weight for the 7 mod
with that engine and he doubts that it can be turned
into a "twin". Also I heard the planetary gear style
"clutch" was broken in it.<br>I don't think we will see
that thing on the track again.<br>At least not as a
triple.<br><br>CU<br><br>Sascha
Hi there!<br>Just talked to E.J.<br>He sold his
old "Double Ugly" Tractor to somebody who wants to
put a 3rd motor on it. E.J. is not involved in it
other that he sold his old tractor.<br><br>Won't make
the weight nor the horsepower<br><br>CU<br><br>Sascha
I would like to thank all the pullers that came

exibition run, they both made 300 foot + passes and where
really impressive.<br>I would also like to than Von
Bauer for the best sled in pulling, And the super
modified 2 wheel drive trucks that made the pull. And all

Bettborn/Luxembourg. If you are interested see the results at:

won last sunday the 4,5 +3,5 ton modified class is
the german twin of the new "rat
poison".<br><br>regards from germany<br><br>Klaus
Where did you qualify? I didnt know of any qualifying pulls yet. I plan on
hitting a few NATPA pulls this winter. Will be in Missouri in March for sure.

Europeans to the pull... but didn't want to spent the money
it costs to get them
there?!?<br><br>CU<br><br>Sascha

Being a Tech Offical All vehicles we run are
required to run a SFI approved flywheel and a 1/4<br>inch
hydroformed bellhousing with a straighstick,<br>and a 6
buckle sfi aproved blanket for automatics,<br>although a
blanket may work on a bell housing a <br>clutch explosion
in a castiron bellhousing could<br>possibly get some
fragments to it really not worth the risk of getting
someone hurt.
