It was found in the investigation of the crash
that the brake lines on the sled had been cut and
caped off. There were no brakes therfore no way to stop
that tractor. Also that sled had suposebly gone
through a tech inspection that day. At any NTPA event the
head official is responsible for not only teching all
tractors at the event but also the sled at every event. So
how did that sled pass tech all season? An how was
that sled certified by the north american sled
opperators association? I am glad that our wolverine pullers
association here in Michigan does follow those guideline and
techs the sled as well as the tractors and that we use
the thumb sleds mostly opperated by Dan Nearpass who
I think is honest and reliable enough not to allow
something like this to happen at any of our state pulls
here in Michigan, He is also knowledgable and
experianced enough to provide good competitive setting every
night for our great fans.
