Hey Gang! It was great seeing so many of us competing today, we
brought home the Lion's share of first places and for many of us that
represented Li's Martial arts, it was a first time at a competition!
some stand out performances were by Robin with her staff form, Rob
with his Chanquan, Doris and Mark with Xingyi, Doris and TC with
Straightsword. Steve also did a fine job with Long fist and staff. I
myself brought home a first in blacbeltweapons w/Broadsword, a 3rd in
forms with Nanquan and a first in Senior Blackbelt fighting,
foughtfor the $150 prize money was tied 5 - 5 in the first round but
narrowly gave up a few point in the 2nd round of fighting but put on
a show! **LOL*
Well group today's te big day! I hope to see as many of you
there at St Joe's univ as possible to support those that are
competing! We had a great class Friday night, and I'm as ready as I'm
gonna get for this thing! I'll be in the Soft forms div probably
doing Tiger or maybe even Nanquan, weapons with broadsword and senior
Heavywieght point sparring. I'll post later how we all did!
Peace!
Mel

Hey don't beat yourself up over that, it was just not the best day
for most of us, I think we were all caught a bit unprepared, we
all got through it.. Yes Mary was certainly a standout with her
braodsword performance... Well we'll see what's what when Laura gets
back.. thats the thing with martial arts..

I don't think I could deal with that kind of training. Coach Li's
class is difficult enough. I hope Laura succeeds in all of her
testings and does a lot better than I did on my last test. I was a
little sloppy but I pulled through it. Some of us had a bad day. Mary
on the other hand gave us a professional style sword form. Much props
Mary.

I heard by email from Laura, that she sends her congratulations on
our last testing. She says she's training hard and tests every month!
That they are more like competitions and she must learn a new form
every month. She says her training is just like our Monday nights in
Clementon but she has like 3 sessions a day including Tai Chi and
meditation with 3 runs up and down a mountainside, once in the
morning then midday then evening. One year of training over there and
she will be the equal of a 2nd deg blackbelt, and 3 years of training
she will recieive a teaching certificate from the Shaolin Temple and
the Chinese Government. She supplements her costs of training over
there by teaching English.

Hey Gang! I just listed the tournament info for Ozzie's tournament
next week, the Valley Forge tournament in Aug, and a new event Philly
in Sept that should be interesting because it's being promoted by
a Chinese stylist from Dr Sun's school. Check the calender on the
left side. I'm still trying to get the hang of this thing, so I'm
not sure if the info will show up on your computor or not, let me
know if it works or not.
Mel
Hey group! If you check the Bookmarks, there have been new
sites added! Thanks Jason for you contribution of the new wushu site.
I've also added Rob's team mantis site.
Mel
Hey guys! I know we've all seen better days but atleast we got
through and we're all one step closer. A few of us ran into a
little trouble during our routines ranging from problems with the
uniform! Uhhh hmmmm! to just plain vapor lock of the brain! Hahaha!
I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone about the standout performances
of Mary Wong's awesome broadsword, Zack's Nanquan compulsary
w/Tornado drop to kip up and let's give Rob a hand to pulling off
Changquan compulsary back to back from the torturous body
conditioning we went through not to mention the Butterflytwists Zack,
Rob and Robert pulled off tonight!!! Zack is only the 2nd to recieve
a Black sash from the school after Lucinda! Aterwards a few of us
including the Coach went out to eat. It was a good time.
Mel
Hey everyone! I started a new photo album just for the pics from the
testing! Just click the box that says June'02 and the album should
come up, the only one that ddn't come out well was the group shot of
everyone together but we'll all get a good one later and I'll scan
and post that when it comes but the rest came out rather well!

Hey Walt! You are the first to post on my Website besides myself! Hopefully the club will grow from here! As you will see, you can start your own album and post your own pics, copy the pics you like and send them as a greeting card to anyone you want. Post on the calender if you know about an upcoming event that may interest all of us etc. Hey let me know if you Walt and Rob are interested in grabbing a bite and a brew after the test!

Hey I just found out at tonight's practice that a testing will be
held this Friday at 6:30 PM til 8:00. I know that Will, Walt and
myself will be testing for the blue sash, I'll be tested on my
Nanquan form, and I believe Will and Walt will be tested on the
advanced Broadsword. I hear Zack Caruso will be testing for his balck
sash!
Mel
I'm on a roll now! I've added a new album separating the wushu
training from the Kali/JKD/Kickboxing/Submissionfighting pics
I'm always adding and updating so stop back, Holla!
Mel
This month's photo on the homepage is of wushu coach, NBL/NASKA
forms and weapons world champion, Li Pei Yun. Taken at his studio in
Clemonton NJ, while teaching the finer points of the broadsword.
Mel
I will be posting a pic of the month to keep things interesting! It
will be the big pic you see when you come to the homepage, members
can submit pics to the photo album and I can draw from there hehehe
well atleast I think I can! I'm still figuring all this out!
mel
I will also be posting events such as tournaments we plan to attend,
demos dates and where we plan perform etc. This site as alot of cool
user freindly features!
Mel
As the modorator of this club and currently the only member (LOL)I
guess I'm obliged to kick things off with the first posting!
Hopefully things will pickup as soon as invitations are sent and word
gets around about it's exisitence! I plan to post pics and such to
make things interesting around here because anyone will tell you that
a club without pics sux! For now I'm keeping things pretty free and
open for members until things start getting abused. But I'm sure we
won't have to go there! Feel free to post pics preferrably
wushu/martial arts related and chat about training, ideas, movies,
tournament competition or events coming up!
