Hey gang,
The event last weekend in Atlantic city went well despite it also
being the Memorial day weekend. Thursday I hosted a firsttime ever
Liondance workshop! I had a great group of kids participating. They
got to see the lionhead up close, bang on the drum, gong and cymbals
as well as have their pictures taken with the gear. Unfortunately
they had too much fun it seems when the hotel staff advised us that
we were too loud and not to play the intruments anymore. We settled
for muffling the drum with some jackets. For the dinner banquet dance
we had a few new elements to the team when we lost our "Tail" dancer
Eric, a week or two earliar when he decided to relocate permanantly
back to California. Our Flagman Shannon stepped up in his stead.
Fortunately Shannon has danced as the tail before some years ago and
didn't take long to learn the new routine. We also had the much
needed new additon of Carol on cymbals who performed wonderfully on
very short notice for a very big event. I hope to have some pics up
very soon.
Cheers!
Mel
