Hey gang,
Over the Memorial day weekend, the Annual NAFMA Nationals
tournament located at the beautiful Sheraton hotel in Atlantic City,
which included the Hall of Fame Dinner banquet the night before
featured once again, liondances performed by our Team. Over the past
year for one reason or another we've lost key members and had to
really scramble to find and train replacements intime. It really
came down to the wire, but we pulled it off! Newly recruited Cymbal
player Patricia Ramos and our newest, strongest "Tail" Eric Pease
came to our rescue performed wonderfully. There were alot of new
elements to this dance including a new drum pattern, as well as the
new members who had no prior experience liondancing. It was also th
debut of or newest lion costume which is the (red/black fur) General
Kwan Lion. I'd also like to thank returning team members Sabato
Trent, Claudia Sheffer, My son Kent, Stephanie Wascowitz and her Mom
for all pulling together and making this weekend a success with one
of the technically best liondances we'ver ever perfromed. I'd also
like to mention that members Eric, Sabato, Kent and myself competed
in the Nationals tournament with impressive wins in forms, weapons
and sparring. All have options to vie for slots for the 2007 NAMFMA
TeamUSA in July. Pics will be posted very soon!
Cheers!
Mel
