1st Liondance of '07 in Chinatown a great time!   Message List

Hey gang, Our team performed well last Saturday! This was our 2nd
dinner banquet in as many years with the PATA Tai Chi Association.
This year it was at a smaller location actually located in Chinatown.
The Golden Pheonix. this time we only danced one lion, "Gomez" teamed
by Stephanie and Dustin. New this year was some upgraded footwork
including a "Switch" with Stephanie and Kent in the lionhead from the
buddha which Kent opened the show with. Also new was a guest
performer, Dustin's freind also named Stephanie who fed the lion for
us and wore the female "Da Tou WaWa" Big head costume, which was
another first! Everyone looked exceptionally sharp including flawless
lifts that changed on the fly with the cramped dance space. We seem
to really be growing with experience to be able to adapt to last
minute adjustments. The only disappointment came with the
anticipated "Spitting the Greens" when the confetti popper failed us.
Stephie recovered quickly by throwing the greens. We regret not being
able to stay for the rest of the dinner banquet but managed a great
time afterwards walking through Chinatown and dining at the beatuiful
Joy Tsin Lau restaurant. Pics will be posted very soon!

Cheers!

Mel
