Well gang,
It's that time again. We've had a nice big Summer vacation which I
hope all of you have enjoyed. I can't beleive the summer is over so
quickly! Some of our members got as far as China with Coach Li to
compete and sightsee. I heard it was an unforgettable time. Hopefully
I too can go next year. Other members including myself went on the
competition trail and got to travel to Ohio and also compete and win
spots on the NAFMA National TeamUSA for pointfighting and padded
stick sparring. We will later get to travel to Toronto and represent
against Team Canada later on in November. So though we havn't been
Liondancing much lately, we've been quite busy martialarts wise. Our
last two dances were for the PATA Festival in Center city early June
after Our triumphant dance at the Pa Convention center late May for
the NAFMA Nationals. The PATA festival was also was the debut of our
newest lion (Multicolored) "Gomez". Kent and Dustin were teamed. Our
last dance was 4th of July at John Lee's backyard bar b que which was
also quite fun. Shannon and Jeana were teamed in "Gomez" also. Our
first liondance of the season is just around the corner on Sept 24th.
The schedule has flipped from last year in order. The 14th annual
PATA TaiChi picnic at Tyler State park in Bucks Co. The dance will
kick off the picnic/festival which is traditional at 10AM. I've read
postings from their members that they are looking forward to our
liondance specifically, so we must not dissappoint! Next up will be
the annual Croydon Funday on Sept 29th on the ballfield on RT13 near
the CVS. I scheduled us to perform at 12:30 PM
Hopefully we can get done quickly so we can get down to Chinatown and
see the liondances going on there for the Autumn Moon Festival which
commences at noon. I know we'll miss the opening Liondance and Kungfu
demos but I hope to catch the 2nd dance and parade through Chinatown
which starts about 6PM.
Cheers!
Mel
