4th of July celebration! Martial arts style!   Message List

Hey Gang, I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. I certainly
did despite having to work every day of the 4 days weekend except
the day and night of the 4th itself. Myself and members of the
Liondance team were invited to celebrate at a private party given by
good friend and martial art notable John Lee, well known for his
custom swords and hard to find imported items from China. It was
a "Dice toss" with the Liondance due to an unforseen last minute
substition of a key member who failed to show. But you can't keep a
good liondance team down! Good member Shannon stepped up to the
plate and once again filled in, going over movements at the very
last minute to pull off one of our most impressive lifts, the
shoulder stand! No sooner did I hit the last beat of the dance when
the sudden ranstorm hit! I never seen the van load up so fast with
the drum and costumes and equipment until that day. Everyone seem to
enjoy the dance though. Food and drink were plentyful also fun was
the sword cutting demos by John Lee and myself chopping raw bamboo
and tatami mats with Johns combat steel sharp swords.

Cheers!

Mel
