Mel, congratuations to you and your team! Sounds like a teriffic show. I'm so impressed with how far you have taken this and how committed you are to it. But knowing you, I'm not surprised!

Subject: [tristatewushukungfu] World Taichi/QiGong Day '06 Liondance and wushu demo a huge success!

Hey gang,

Despite some unforseen setbacks, which were numerous for some
reason this year, we pulled it off despite ourselves. There was alot
of stress going in today. I had to come straight to the event
directly from working all night this year. Who would be performing
with us was sketchy in both the liondance as well as the
Taichi/wushu demo due to some misinfo with Coach Li. He pretty much
gave up on it this year and it was left to me. We were committed
however and couldn't bail out so we winged it as best we could. Some
last minute hustling brought in a few more players from LMAC which
helped our cause. My thanks to Valerie and Josh Walls as well as
Mareisha and Margarita Toro. Last minute music added by Tammy and
shuffling of performers ended up working  out nicely. The Liondance
went great with huge applause with a new lift. A firsttime "Headsit"
by Dustin and Jeana, "Tailgag" went over huge and for the firsttime
the poppers for the "spitting the greens" went off without a hitch
and was applauded as well. We were let into the facility late which
trickled down to cutting the Liondance short which was the only
thing that hurt and disorriented us but we managed through it. We
opened the demo portion with Wushu group form then with 32 Taichi
sword, switched gears back to wushu broadsword. Last second I
elected to drop 24Yang TaiChi hand form preferring to end our demo
on a high energy note not to mention the host's own team did the
same 24 Yang handform after us so we avoided redundancy. A little
bit of a shock for me was TC, showing up with his own team including
Doris, Robert and Brandon, independant of LMAC which they wished to
keep separated as opposed as working together with us as I hoped
when they showed up. Oh well, it happens, natural progression. Some
will leave the nest to fly off on their own. We wish them well. Pics
will be posted soon!

Cheers!

Mel
