Hello Bob,
The teaching set up at the club is unique, it is a
health fitness spa that happens to offers martial arts
courses to it's members and not exclusivley a martial
arts school per se. The staff that answers the phone
know very little of the particulars of the goings on
of the class itself. I will be more than happy to give
you a call later on today. To answer some of your
questions. Each night is not devoted to one style
only. But if Xing Yi is of your particular interest,
How we would work is the whole class begins with the
same basics for say the first 30-45 mins usually in
Chang quan, then the remaining time we break off into
our "Specialties" For example you would be working
Xing Yi with myself or my advanced students on one
side of the room while a few students may be training
Taiji on another side of the room, while another may
be practicing TigerClaw on yet another side of the
room. As far as the Taiji/Internal wushu course is
concerned you start off with learning the
combinedstyle "Beijing 24 posture form" as your Taiji
basics. Graduate to the 42 competition form then 48
Form which are based on Yang with Chen and Sun style
elements. This includes the straightsword forms
24posture and 32posture and 42 combined style
striaghtsword. Then the Chen style phase of "silk
reeling" exercises, short form and 13 posture Chen
Broadsword.
