Hey Gang!
I just got back and it was well worth the trip! The downside was we
kept getting lost! MapQuest is a joke! Directions from the school
wasn't much better for the most part, but the show and workshop were
worth the aggravation. The show was performed not only by the Team
members from China but by students of the school that hosted the
event! You saw awesome displays of weaponry, handforms in Wushu as
well as Taiji! It was cool seeing 32sword performed, something we do!
I could go on and on! Another thing that went wrong was I ran out of
videotape halfway through the show! The footage I did get was amazing
though and can't wait for everyone to see it, we should have a get
together to see it! The workshop was definately on an advanced level
though and difficult do to the fact that the team members on a whole
speak no English, we communicated by hand gestures and nodding alot!
**LOL** I managed though and I taped as much as I could as far as the
weapons routine I learned, I doubt I could retain a whole routine
having only 4 hrs or so to learn in. WE only managed to cover 2 out
of 4 sections, the team member did demo the entire routine for us to
tape and learn later on our own. The facility was huge and beautiful.
Despite the spacious school we were crowded and fighting for space,
and had to keep a lookout not to cut or pok each other with our
weapons!
I'll post pics soon!
Cheers!
