Goals -- Stay healthy and have fun. Check for both. Ran/walked and still
beat last year's time.

First race I've ever entered just to have fun. Still rehabilitating leg,
still doing walk/run. Tempted for a moment to race once I saw Christine
there, but have worked on this maturity thing enough to stick to my
plan. Absolutely NO calf pain.

Due to the injury, I was off anything physical for about 4 weeks,
started back with trainer slow spinning. I easy jogged 3 miles on
Saturday just to make sure I could. During this race I never had trouble
breathing, or felt stressed out or in pain. Maybe I should learn to
relax for all my races!

Best part of this event, besides the glow in the dark t-shirt, is the
kids 1k run. It's so much fun clapping like crazy and see the beaming
face of a 6 year old. There were tons of youngsters that look like they
are escaping the obesity trend in America. This is my second year at
this race and I plan to come back again.

The being smart and no hurting part of this event were real confidence
boosters. I'm looking forward to more smart behavior, training well,
getting stronger and having a good season in 05.
