To all those that received an invite to the party....one thing that
was not made clear on the invite was that you can bring your
spouse/significant other, the invite is extended to whomever you would
like to bring.
Also, (I meant to say 2 things weren't clear), pizza, wings, beer and
wine will be served courtesy of the TCRC.
Thanks and I hope to see all of you there.

No problem. If you are looking for a new location, I think Vestal is looking for
people to use their new track.
Their coach was talking to me about putting on a series of track meets over
the summer. It's a beautiful, new facility.

I found out that the track at M-E WILL NOT be torn up this coming summer. It
will be next summer. If you want to stay there for the Wed meets it will be
fine.

Some TCRC members have expressed a passing interest in having the club
acquire a chip timing system for local use. There is a discussion of
chip timing systems on Alan Jones' RunScore Yahoo group. At message
#2883, Alan himself recently posted a link to a good comparison chart
in the following:
To: RunScore Group Yahoo

Subject: Chip systems compared
Jim Gerweck has written a very nice article on the various chip systems in
Road Race Management. The article is only available in hard copy for
subscribers
to RRM. But Jim has provided a chart comparing the systems. You CAN
view it at:

There is further discussion on the RunScore group if anyone wants to
follow this up. See

The Philadelphia half-marathon was held this morning, November 18, 2007.
Annette's time was 1:21:35. She was 33rd overall. Her age/gender performace was
82.1%.
The Philly Marathon was also held at the same time but I haven't seen any
results from it yet.

This isn't a race but there is a low key get together on the west side of
Binghamton at 9 AM. Meet in front of Brendan Flynn's house at 40 Johnson Ave for
an easy 3 miler. You can add on more if you'd like before or afterwards.

Hi Sarah;
I was just asked that question this week. I don't believe that there
is anything going on in Binghamton. There used to be a cross country
race over a 3 mile course at Ely Park in Binghamton on the Saturday
after Thanksgiving, but that was cancelled many years ago. I think
Cortland is your closest one. Berwick also has one, if you want to beat
yourself up over a hilly 9 miles. But it may be worth it. You can eat
twice as much turkey!

Hello, Grace,
I was wondering if this notice could go out to the TCRC list.
Amanda Bricks is an 18-year-old homeschooled friend of ours who
was
in a serious car accident in early October. She was in ICU at Wilson
for
nearly a month and is now in a rehab facility near Albany. She is
coming
out of a coma and has months of physical therapy, speech therapy, and
occupational therapy ahead of her. Her family's only car was totaled
in
the car accident, and they have many other expenses associated with
Mandy' recovery. Amanda's love is gymnastics, but she ran her first
race
this year at the Dick's Value of Life 5K (finishing with a time of
27:53).
There is a fund-raiser this Saturday to help the Bricks family:
Saturday, November 10th
Spaghetti dinner/Chinese Auction at the Berkshire Fire Station
Dinner served 5:00-8:00 pm
Raffle drawings at 8:15 pm (you do not need to be present to win)
The fire station is on Rt. 38 right in the center of Berkshire. If
you
are coming from Owego it will be on the left side of the road just
before the library.
Thanks so much,
Mary Ann Nichols
If you want to order something from Run Worldwide thru our website you

Please share with your members. When they call to place an order, it

112th Boston Marathon
NOVA presents Marathon
Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 8 PM ET on PBS
www.pbs.org/nova/marathon
How do you run 26.2 miles if you have trouble making it around the block? With
good coaching, discipline, and lots of group support—as NOVA shows when it
follows 13 would-be athletes through a nine-month regimen designed to prepare
them for the Boston Marathon®, on Marathon.
Created in cooperation with the Boston Athletic Association, which granted NOVA
unprecedented access during the 111th Boston Marathon (April 16, 2007), and
Tufts University, the film takes viewers on a unique adventure inside the human
body, tracking changes in the runners' bodies. The film promises to be
inspiring, as well as entertaining.
Marathon premiers Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 8pm ET/PT on PBS (check local

We had our STAC coaches meeting Monday night and all of the coaches agreed that
this was the best run, smoothest STAC meet in memory. It was all due to the
TCRC. There were many positive comments from the coaches.
Thanks to everyone and I hope you enjoyed the true cross-country weather as
much as the kids did! I'm not kidding- they love the rain and mud!

A huge thanks to all those volunteers that came out and helped with
these races this past Saturday.
The JC 5K had a low turnout, probably due to the weather and another
race at BU on the same morning but for the ones that showed up it was
a good time....plenty of food, coffee and commaraderie.
Kevin Nelson won and on the women's side, Nancy Whitam took the
honors.
Thanks to Brendan Flynn, who doubled on the road as a road guard and
worked the water stop (he's multi-talented), Chuck Hein at mile 1,
Chuck Barney at mile 2, Tony Mazza on the road as a road guard, Teri
Hein at registration and finish line, Karen Fennie, Marla Goyden,
Paul McCabe, Mike Zwick and Chris Simser in the finish line.
Kathy Greenblott, race director and director of the JC Senior Citizen
Center, said she will do this again next year but will pick a weekend
in the summer.
At the STAC meet we had a great group of volunteers and many thanks
to all of them.
Barney Taylor ran the show and the following runners helped out:
Road Guards on the course were Lou Schlager, Lee Anderson, Vince Fox
and Gary Payne.
Handing out place cards was Dan Dougherty, tearing off bibs was Sue
(I'm enjoying my coffee) Cain and Chris ( I like her coffee) Pilotti.
Running the seikos was Sue Priestly, John Shiel, George Joseph &
Kevin Pasterchik.
Keeping order in the chute was Tom Hamlin and all those available.
Again, thanks to all....we couldn't do it without all of you.
