I'm in for the care cooler! Sounds like alot of body glide is in order! That's one hell of a long way to sit in the saddle! :) we could print them up a special tee shirt that we all sign or something. These kids are amazing! Anyway, I'm in for rides too! I've had a few set backs this season and could use to get out there and boost back my confidance that I am ready to hike-it-through Columbia in May!

These amazing guys are riding their fixed gear bikes 6,000 miles from Washington State to Ocean City, MD to raise awareness for diabetes and raise money for Kopenda, a program in Africa for children with special needs.Anyway, our own amazing icon, tri-Goddess, trigirl member, Sadj had a great idea about our group putting together a care package to send them off with. This could include sunscreen, bars, gels/gu, and anything else people came up with to show our support for their ride. Anyway, if you have ideas or would like to contribute, let me know. They leave at the end of May, so perhaps we could get donations together and pack it all in a cooler with a bow and present it to them at the May meeting.I was going to try to get a college student to do some babysitting once a week to ride/run the course. If anyone else is interested, we could meet at Centennial at 9:30 and let the kids play on the playground with a sitter while we tackle the course. If you're interested in this set up, e-mail me directly Dunnigan5@... and let me know your preference for day ( I can do Mon./Wed/ or Fri.)I hope everyone will start posting more rides/runs now that we have some sunlight and warmer temps. For me, the goal of this group would be that everyone have a chance to come out and train in a suppotrive environment and possibly meet up with other women who they can ask questions/learn from others experiences and also find training buddies who have a similiar level/schedule. It's terrific to find people who you gel with to train. It's discouraging to always feel like you can't keep up and also tough to feel like you have to wait or can't really push yourself. If we get a big group to come out, chances are, we'll have women at a variety of levels and can meet everyone's goals. Well, in a perfect world anyway. If anyone has any other ideas about furthering our girl power group let me know. For the newbies of the group, check out the Howard County Striders website at www.striders.net for some terrific running programs they are offering this spring. Or come join Doug's track workouts on Thurs. nights at HCC from 6:30-7:30. He's terrific and caters to all levels of runners, pushing you to do your best!I hope to see everyone soon at the run-bike-runs,track workouts, or out on the course.Stay Well,Maura
