Hi there
Just wanted to let you know that online registration is open for My Way or The
Tri Way
- the triathlon where YOU CHOOSE THE RACE ORDER! July 25th, Aurora Reservoir,
Colorado.
Please visit www.thetriway.com for more info and feel free to email with any
questions.
Regards, Alex Bregman
Tri-Way Productions
On another list I am on, someone sent out a list of questions so
that they could learn more about the other members. I decided it
would be fun to do the same thing on this list as well! I'm going
to answer the questions too.
1. Swim, Bike, Run-Which is your favorite/which do you like least?
Cycling is my favorite, than swimming, and then running. It varies
though which ones I like most and least-this is just my current
opinion.
2. Off-road or On-Road? On-Road, although I think off-road is
really cool to watch.
3. What is your favorite race? My favorite race is the Columbia
Triathlon-which is a very hilly Olympic distance event held in May.
It is really well organized and a great challenge.
4. Race Coverage-Find out about the race on the internet or wait
until it is on tv? I like to track the races online.
5. Most embarressing training/racing moment? I slipped of a
stationary bike at the gym...so much for helmet only being needed on
moving bikes. I also swam the wrong direction in the first
triathlon I ever did and have gotten people lost in training runs in
which I was supposed to know where I was going. Needless to say
directions are not my strength.
6. What is a good time for a Olympic distance triathlon to start?
9:00-More travel time and it usually doesn't get to hot by the time
the race is over.
7. What is your triathlon dream(doesn't have to be realistic at
all)? Winning the Hawaii Ironman-like I said it doesn't have to be
realistic at all.
8. What is most exciting to you about this upcoming triathlon
season? I haven't gotten injured-yet. I am also signed up for a
Danskin race I and I have heard really good things about the
series.
9. If you could have any triathlon item what would you get(again
doesn't have to be realistic?I think those endless pools are really
cool. I don't have any place to put one or the money for one but
again they are really cool.
10. Have you ever swam/biked/ran the wrong directions in a race?
Yes,sadly many times. My first tri I swam the wrong direction. I
have run of course many times in running races, but fortunely I have
never biked the wrong direction.
Hi,
I hope everyone's training is going well. I have updated a number
of pages.
If have added many races to both the East and West United States
Calendars. They are respectively located at
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/tricalander.html
and
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/Wtricalander.html. If you
know of races or have a race that is not listed, please let me know
and I will list it. Additionally, I have also added a new feature to
the beginning swimmers page, the open water swimming page, and the
first triathlon page called tip of the month, with a new tip
appearing every month. Also, I have added a few new questions to
the Q and A page and some races to the duathlon calendar. Happy
training!
Hi! How is everyone doing? I have finally been able to do a number
of updates to the website. I have added 2004 races to the following
calendars-East U.S., West U.S., and Duathlon. I still have a lot
more races to add. Also, if you are a race director and you see
your race is not listed please email me about your race and I will
list it.
Also, I have done small updates to other pages such as begining
swimming, beginning running, the main page, open water swimming, and
first triathlon.
Additionally, I have added questions(and answers) to the tri
questions page.
I hope that everyone had a great triathlon season.
I don't know if anyone has heard of this, but on the Raleigh Clear
Channel Radio station (I think on September 23rd)the DJ's were
advocating purposely harming cyclists. This is advocating terrorism
and needs to be stopped. The link to the website I heard about this
on is http://trianglemtb.com/pages/projects/g105.html
The website includes a lot of people you can email.
jcjones@... the station manager
They also include a list of higher ups and sponsers
Hi all,
I'm organizing a race in Colorado next July and am interested in
what people think - it's called "My Way or The Tri Way" and it's an
800y swim, 15 mile bike and 4 mile run. The difference is that
YOU CAN CHOOSE THE RACE ORDER!! What do you guys think
of that? What order would you choose? I'd love some feedback.
Thanks, Alexia Bregman
Hi Everyone,
I hope your triathlons and training are going well.
I wanted to let you know about some of the new pages that I have
created this summer.
In terms of features/tips the new pages this summer include
(http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/bikesafety.html)Bike
Safety and (http://www.geocites.com/triathlonrules/swimsafety2.html)
Swim
Safety 2-Prevention. Unlike the top ten pages I will continue to
expand these pages as I learn more and do more research. Also feel
free to email me or post any additional tips you have on safety. I
am also planning a page on running safety.
In terms of calendars and results, I have added duathlon results(new
today!-http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/duresults.html) and a
television calendar-
(http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/tvcalendar.html). As always,
please let me know if you have a race that you would like listed
(whether it is yours or somebody elses).
Also, I have added two pages featuring items. The first is of
running shoes
(http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/runshoes.html). On the
running shoes page you can get basic descriptions of various running
shoes and links to where you can learn more about them and buy them
at really good prices. The second page is of magazines
(http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/magazine.html). This page
offers links to where you can read reviews and get descriptions of
the magazines, as well as links where you can order them.
In addition to new pages, I have also worked on updating the old
pages. I have added lots of new questions to the question and answer
page (http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/triques.html). If you
haven't been to this page in a while you should go and look at it
because it is quite different from the old page that just had a few
random questions. Also, I have updated the calendars and even added
some 2003 races. Additionally, I just wanted to mention that I only
add 2003 races after I have seen a confirmation on the websites of
the races, I don't assume that a race will be run, just because it
was run in 2002. Plus, I have added new tridigests.
Also, please let me know if you would like to write an article or
news story, add a race, or have ideas for new pages(or even if you
want to write one yourself!)
Also, please feel free to post any questions or advice you have to
the list or email me with them.
Happy training and Good luck with your races!
I'm working on updating some of the features on the Message Group.
Under files I added an interesting article I found, I added some
bookmarks(links), I'm going to add a few charts and polls. Also, I
added some events to the calendar, even though the calendar on my
website is in much better format and has many many many more races on
it.
As members of this message groups, please feel free to add your
triathlon stuff to these features too.
Geocities is doing system maintence right now, so my website as well
as most other geocities websites are down. According to Geocities
they shouled be back up around 9 p.m. today.
Sorry about not letting you know about site updates lately. I have
been really busy. I have been doing updates though-here are some of
the new pages that I have added.
Calendars-Canada triathlon, U.S. Aquathlon
Tips-Open water swimming, swimming safety tips
Features-Triathlon Books
Plus I have done a lot of updates of existing pages
Please let me know about anything else that you would like to see on
the site.
Hi,
I added a new section today which is articles written by me, other
message group members, or anyone else interested in writting articles.
If anyone would like to submit an article that would be wonderful.
Just let me know at triathlonrules@.... It can be about pretty
much anything related to triathlon, duathlon, running, biking, or
swimming. This includes race reports and things like that.
I also have updated the calendar and I am still working on adding more
races. In additon, I also updated newsflash which is now located at
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/newsflash02.html. The old
news flash link will take you to news from last year.
Let me know if anyone has any suggestions for the site.
Happy Training.
Hi,
I hope that everyone had a good holiday.
I created a new calendar for duathlon races located at
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/ducalendar.html Let me know
if anyone has any races that they would like added to it. I also have
added more races to the triathlon calendars.
Here is a helpful tip for searching the calendars. If you hit control
F a box will appear from which you can search the page for anything
and arrive at it, such as a date, state, city, specific triathlon,
distance, etc. You can also use this feature on results pages to find
your name in a long list.
There will be no January tridigest. Tridigest will resume in February.
Good luck with your 2002 season.
Hi,
Hope everyones training is going well.
There is a new top ten list up. It is about biking after running.
It
is located at
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/biketorun.html
Also I added a bunch of races to both the East U.S. and Major
Events(combined), and West U.S. race calanders. For the east and
major events go to
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/tricalander.html and for the
West go to http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/Wtricalander.html
I hope to add an International Calander of events sometime soon (in
the next month) and eventually a duathlon calander.
I also added the Ultraman WorldChampionship results to the results
page. http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/results.html
I also added a little bit of news-just one quick story.
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/newsflash.html
Webmasters please note the new policy on borrowing information-you
can
link to it from the bottom of the main page. For those of you who
are
not webmasters you probably don't want to note this as it is quite a
boring read!
Let me know if anyone has any races they would like me to add or any
suggestions for new pages they would like to see.
Have a great weekend,
Triathlon Rules
Hi,
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. The November Triathletes
Digest is up:
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/tridigestnov01.html
Also, I added more races to the race calander and more results. I
also updated the new flash. As for the race calander I might have to
split it into two pages. Most likely I will do this geographically.
My other idea was alphabetically. Feel free to let me know which you
prefer, any other ideas you have or doing this, or if you have any
races that you would like added(at this point triathlon only).
Ironman Florida is happening today. Spencer Smith set a new course
record by 7 minutes. Even though the womens race is not over yet it
looks like Katja Shumacher is going to win.
Hi,
I added a new top ten page of tips for those who are beginning
swimmers or new to triathlon. It is located at
http://www.geocities.com/triathlonrules/nonswimmer.html
I hope it is helpful.
I also added some more 2002 races and I added a few more results.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Hi,
I added a list of my top ten running tips. It is geared towards those
who are new to running or have never had any formal running training.
I also added some more races to the calander(mostly 2002). Hope
everyone is having a great weekend.
I was just wondering what people though about the article on swim
drafting arguing that it is unfair and even dangerous in the Tri
digest. I though it was a really interesting article. I think it is
unfair if done for the whole swim, not quite as unfair as the article
was claiming, but I think it would be really hard to enforce.
Swimming isn't like biking where you have clear visibility and some
people might not even realize that they are behind someone elses feet.
In addition, in the races I have done the swims have pretty much been
crowded to the point where it would be hard not at some time or
another end up behind somes feet particularly at the start. Also, it
would create a need for even more boats/canoes/kayaks and people in
order to watch for drafters and I know these are things that race
directors have trouble getting.
Hi,
First I would like to welcome are 2 new members to the list trigirl11
and matdivino. Feel free to post any triathlon related comments or
questions you have.
Now to the website updates. I added a new pages called
Triathletes Digest which contains links to ten interesting things on
the web each month. This month I posted 2 articles that are training
related, a race related site (Ironman World Championships) and
article, 2 recommended books, 2 opinion pieces, and 2 lesser known
websites(lesser than active,usa triathlon,etc.) which I thought were
excellent.
I also added more races (all 2002)and results. In addition, I added
some new flashes concerning the Ironman World Championships. For very
detailed and frequent news, photos etc. on the Ironman World
Championships you can go to the site http://www.ironmanlive.com.
Let me know if you have a 2002 race you want added to the calander(at
this point I am posting triathlon races only), results, or suggestions
for Triathletes Digest or any other part of the site. Thanks
Have a great weekend.
Hi,
-The site has a new look. Not completely new, but it does look
different. The site is now also easier to navigate through(You don't
have to go back to the main page anymore).
-I also updated the results and race calanders.
-I added a new page which is a packing list for triathletes.
The place that I get my website from is having technical difficulties
and unfortunetly therefor there will be no site updates this week.
Sorry! Have a great weekend.
If anyone is going to be in the D.C. area around September 9th or
is from the area there is a race called the Reston Triathlon which
needs volunteers. Go to
http://www.restontriathlon.org for more information.
Hi,
Here are the site updates for this week. I added a new page that
summarizes the rules of triathlon and links you to the official
rules. I updated the race calander, results, and news flash. I took
down the link to the World Championship page, but if you missed the
results being added to it you can go there directly through
http://members.theglobe.com/EmilyEponine/2001Worlds.html. I
eventually will probably add an events page so that you can still see
the information on previous events. Have a great weekend.
