I wanted to thank all of you for your prayers and support for my race! We had a wonderful weekend and a successful race. The swim was a bit of a challenge. At times the water was so shallow that you could not make a full stroke, but if you stood up and walked, you would suffer the consequences as well- there were oyster shells all along the way. And then there was the current. Every time I looked up at the finish line, it looked as if I was no closer than the last check. I felt like I was just swimming in place.  When I finally did reach the ramp, it had taken a good 6 minutes longer than my usual time and needless to say I was not happy. With frustration and a frown to show it, I ran past my cheering friends. Just then the prayer that Joe prayed right before the race came to my mind- "...all for Your Glory." This race was not about me and my performance. First and foremost, it was about using my God given talents to glorify the One who gave me the ability to race in the first place. Secondly, this race was about the kids at Smart Start and helping them have a better chance in life. A smile came across my face and I finished the race strong, giving it the best I had and having fun. All 3 of us, Joe, Tim and I, finished strong and we had friends and family there to cheer us on. What a great weekend!!
