Having problems with message search?
Early Y22s (and 11/33’s too) require
a top swing, top pull 34.9 mech. Most Shimano mechs are now 34.9 and will come
with reducers for smaller frames.
You would do well to consider either an LX
or XT front mech as they are designed to be used from either top pull or bottom
pull, and are very reasonably priced. It would also fit in with the bikes
original componentry.
