Hey everyone I have a Y5 and I haven't really taken care of it the
last little while, due to small income and growing family, I did take
it in for a tune up and the repair tech said since my chain was old
and stretched, it had damaged the sprokes and the shifters, so in
order to fix it all sprokes, shifters, derailleurs and chain would
need to be done at the same time.
What I need to know is all the specs for the parts I need, I am
looking to get as good of quality stuff as I can, I know that older
stuff is cheaper to buy for these bikes, as I have seen on Ebay.
I am support my wife and three kids on my income so money to be put
into my bike is pretty low on the priorities, though I ride it to work
as much as I can, the repair tech quoted me around $500 for this stuff
plus labour, which is just way out of my range, if anyone has a
suggestion of what I can do.
* Also I have the older manitou shocks that I was told were recalled
but the recalled supposedly expired, if anyone has experienced this
issue, what can I do if anything.
