hello everyone...hope everyone is getting some riding in this
summer.....if anyone wants to do an all Y-bike team at a 24 hour
race, there is a great one at Seven Springs Ski Resort, about 1-1/2
hour south of Pittsburgh,PA in the Laurel Highlands. Labor Day
weekend, lots of fun !

Anyway, Ellen and I were riding Pontiac Lake last weekend, she has
been riding her Y-50 that i got her for Valentine's Day just about
all the time now, even racing it instead of her 4500....Anyway, she
is usually fearless on teh downhill stuff, rarely touching a
brake....well, about 9 miles in, we came upon a fairly rocky,
straight down drop, about 5'-6'....she chickened out at the last
second, grabbed too much front brake and over the handlebars she
went...landed on her head, face, ankle,e tc.....knocked the wind out
of her, thought her arm was broke, bad sprain and gash on her left
ankle...she walked it out though, about 1.5 miles to get back to the
trail head....of course, the Y-50 was a tank, just a little scratch
in the paint, tough as nails....anyway, she is recovering nicely,
might be able to ride again next weekend....she is as tough as her
bike..hope everyone has a safe summer
