I picked up my Y22 tonight after the 2 month wait to get to Australia.
To put it mildly it can only be described as "interesting". The Ebay
seller wasn't entirely truthful as to it's condition. First thing was
one missing stem-handlebar clamp screw ( so no riding until I've
replaced that), the rear shock bushing wear was noticeable as soon as
I picked up the bike, the front skewer is made from oddment parts,
the
seat post is the wrong size for the frame and the Specialized
saddle...what is that doing on a Trek? It has SRAM shifters, one of
which is pretty butchered; the other is a recent replacement.
Scratches abound is just about every component; but fortunately the
OCLV part of the frame is relatively unscathed. What has me curious
is
that I noticed rust on the URT. I would have thought it was meant to
be aluminium. I find it hard to believe a chromoly URT would have
been
fitted when the earlier OCLV frames had the aluminium URT. Has
someone put on a URT from a Y1 or Y3? The bike weighs about 1kg more
than my Y5. Looks like I've got a bit of a restoration ahead of
me...we'll see what the YSL200 is like when it arrives.
