Greetings...
I recently purchased (off of Ebay) a complete 1998 Trek Y22. It
turns out that this thing is a bit more than what I was really
looking for...so I want her to go to a better home. The bike for
the most part is in very good condition...except for the Spinergy
SPIN 3 Spoke Carbon Composite Wheelset. Those things are total
JUNK. They have a few flat spots...wobbles...and bearing cartridges
that have some play in them. Also...the guy who sold me the bike
shipped the rear wheel with a messed up SRAM PG-990 9 Speed
Cassette. 7th gear is tanked...and is overall beat to crap...so no
wheels with this sale folks. The bike was just professionally tuned
by my local TREK Authorized Repair Center with an otherwise very
clean bill of health! For the rest of the bike...here it goes:
The frame is in perfect condition except for a small crack in the
paint on the seat post. The OCLV is PERFECT...I had the entire
frame inspected via Ultra Sound. The rear swingarm is MINT! It has
Fox Forx Float RL up front...in perfect operational condition.
There is a very very small gouge of metal knocked out of the strut
arch...but has zero impact on the operation of the forks. The lock-
out feature rules on flat road rides. The rear shock is a Fox Float
RL. Again...perfect running order and great lock-out feature as
well! Zero complaints for this shock. Up front it has a Chris King
No-Thread Sealed Bearing Headset (Black). Black Azonic Shorty
Stem...perfect. LP Carbon Fiber/Kevlar bars, bar-ends and seat
post...pretty sweet! It has SRAM XO Twist Grip Shifters...a bit
worn...but in perfect operational condition. It has AVID Speed Dial
7 brake levers and AVID Single Digit Rim Brakes...they are
AWESOME!!! It has a SRAM X.O Rear Derailleur...a bit beat-up...but
again...works perfectly! Up front is a Shimano XT Family
Derailleur. It has a SRAM 9 Speed chain as well. She has the rare
Race Face Submarine Yellow NEXT Cranks which incorporated alloy and
Carbon Fiber...a tiny bit chipped up...but in perfect operational
condition. It also has Race Face chain rings too!!! The only thing
you would have to buy of course are wheels a saddle and some
pedals. I want to sell to a Trek enthusiast...so I will start
here...and then utilize Ebay if no one is interested. I am asking
way less than what I payed on Ebay...so my asking price will be $975
O.B.O.
I have some pictures of the bike as well...just let me know
Thanks!
