I made a horrible mistake 2 years ago and killed my young lab under my bush-hog. I saw her napping in her shade spot in front of the barn, took the bush-hog thru the gate and never saw her get up and go under to investigate. The diesel engine of my tractor was too loud to hear anything and I dropped it and turned it on.
I am crying again as I type. This was 2 years ago. I will send a reminder every spring in hope that I save someone else and their beloved dog this horrendous accident.
PLEASE make sure your dogs are secure, locked in the house, tack room, kennel, whatever. Just not loose when your bring out the mowers.
