IDAHO Alerts are not about a potato or the state. A horse named Idaho was stolen in 1997 from a farm in North Carolina. The owners of the horse searched relentlessly until finally, 51 weeks later their horse was brought safely home. Nothing existed on the Internet at the time of this theft to help this family. Today, because of the theft of Idaho, Stolen Horse International, the only nonprofit organization in the world of its kind, sends out IDAHO Alerts for stolen and missing horses, stolen tack, stolen equipment, related farm crimes, educational articles and horse identification information.
