| Notes: | Registration is now open for Peak Hike 2009, which will be held on Sunday, September 27 on Mt. Tamalpais! We hope that you’re able to join us again this year for an extraordinary hike to stop breast cancer before it starts. Your support through Peak Hike has fueled our recent successes, including passage of a federal ban on toxic phthalates in toys and the development of California’s Green Chemistry Initiative, which is working to replace harmful chemicals in the products we use every day with safer alternatives. This year, your participation in Peak Hike will support our efforts to ban toxic bisphenol A (BPA) from food and beverage containers, give the FDA authority to regulate cosmetics and make sure they are safe, and bring a breast cancer prevention perspective to the Kid-Safe Chemicals Act, a federal bill that will reform our broken chemical regulation system. Peak Hike 2009 will again bring people from all reaches of Northern California to the trails of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Hike a seven or 11.5-mile trail with the people in your life, or register as an individual and make friends along the way. After your hike, enjoy pampering, an organic lunch, a healthy living expo and exclusive fundraising incentive prizes. The Breast Cancer Fund’s goal in 2009 will be to have more than 500 participants and to raise at least $200,000 to support our work to identify and eliminate the environmental causes of breast cancer. To help us reach our goal, please spread the word to family, friends and colleagues. This year, all hikers over 17 years will raise a minimum of $250. You’ll receive a goody bag filled with great products from our sponsors and a Peak Hike t-shirt, and will have a chance to win exclusive incentive prizes. If you do not reach the fundraising minimum by October 5, 2009, your credit card will be charged for the remainder of the amount.
