Improve your trail running technique in this running clinic led by personal trainer and veteran trail runner Laurel Kato. You will learn how to get a safe, effective workout on the trails, plus: „Ã Why we need to strength train all of our muscles for running, even upper body „Ã Proper shoes and clothing „Ã Body positioning for uphill and downhill „Ã The best forms of cross-training „Ã Proper use of sunscreen „Ã How to incorporate hill repeats „Ã Specific exercises to help you run on trails „Ã How to improve core strength „Ã Running alone safely „Ã Paying attention to where you are stepping Specific Exercises will include: „Ã Lunges and lunge variations (lunges to side squat, speed skater side lunges to work the luteus, quads, hamstrings and abductors) „Ã Mountain climbers (inner thigh, quads and shoulders) „Ã Outdoor stair (thigh and calves) „Ã Dead lifts (hamstring, gluteus) „Ã Push ups „Ã Abdominal exercises Laurel Kato is an AFAA certified personal trainer and a graduate from Hawthorn University as a Nutrition Advisor in 2005.
