yep, i was out there from 8:30 am to noon at Fair Hill and the leaves hiding the roots and rocks gave me more trouble than any soft spots. All around good conditions.

it was a great ride.

are in great shape very little wet areas, mostly on the low lying trails. We rode for 2 1/2 hour this morning and did not encounter much if any real problem areas.

Eric, we've got 7 inches of fresh snow here in Denver. I got in a really big ride last weekend, but that might be it for awhile. Thanks again for being a great tour guide at WC/MR when I was in Baltimore. Let me know when you are back in Colorado. Rich

Although yesterday was dry, I would think most trails will suffer from the leaf coverage and be fairly wet most of the morning into late afternoon. I plan on doing my newark city stomp onto creekroad up into PA. If anyone walks any trails please report!

I have a 2010 Fisher X-Caliber 29'er for sale with very low miles. Ridden for 2 months. Extremely good condition. Just a couple scuffs here and there but otherwise excellent. Shimano clipless pedals and comes with 5 year Bikeline tune-up and labor warranty which is transferrable. Best offer over $1000.00. I paid over $1600.00 so it's a good buy for someone.
Flat black with green. Check the Fisher website for componentry.

It'll be later than next week, if for no other reason because it's shotgun season.

Why not just donate the extra food stuffs to the local food bank, They sure use the food this time of year.

Then just have the party /ride and fill-up on the knowledge that the food went to help others who really need it.

ATTENTION ALL LOCAL MTB TEAMS, CLUBS, ETC.

As was the case in previous years, we have TONS of food left over from the Mountain Bike Jamboree at Fair Hill a couple of weekends ago. So rather than freeze it all until next years Jambo (can you say “freezer burn”?), we’re inviting all local mountain bike groups, clubs, teams and other organizations to ride Middle Run / White Clay (hopefully David English will be re-opened by this time) and party at Jim Ireland’s house post-ride next Sunday, November 22. The first group rides will commence at 2pm and then more rides periodically thereafter. Then back to Jim’s for a bonfire, lots of good food and beer, and of course stimulating conversation with other astute local mtbers. So clear your calendar and encourage other members on your team, club or whatever to join us.

Although the focus of this event is to get all the local groups together, you need not be a member of an mtb organization to come.

Be sure to bring your bike, warm clothes for post-ride festivities, and of course your favorite beverage. We’ll provide the food. You provide the beer. Parking is available on Jim’s street. If possible, please carpool as to not overwhelm Jim’s neighborhood. Parking also available at McGlynn’s and Pike Creek Bible Church on Polly Drummond Hill Road. If you park in one of these locations you will need to ride to Jim’s house through Middle Run.

Address: 333 Delaplane Avenue, Newark, DE

Sunday November 22, 2009

Rides begin at 2pm or later

Festivities begin around 4pm (or when riders begin to arrive back at Jim’s)

Contact Dusty Burchnall with any questions at 610/350-7063

Hi Guys and Gals,

Anybody here near Rising Sun have a shock pump? I just bought my first Full suspension bike (Fisher Sugar 2+)
Has a Cane Creek rear shock and it is fully compressed. I've never had a need for a shock pump as my old Trek 8000 doesn't require one
This may have a bad shock but before hauling it around to a shop to diagnose I wanted to see if it would take and hold air.

Please let me know
I can come to you
Thanks
Brian

No requirements for the ride.  If you want to become a Park Watch member this evaluation is required.

The ride is open to anyone.

Lums Pond Park Ranger Brian McKinery will be running a ride training session this Sunday November 15, 2009 at 9:00 AM.  This session is a requirement for Delaware State Parks Park Watch Program.  The training session is going to start at the park office located at 1068 Howell School Road Bear DE 19701.

This is a great opportunity to checkout the trails at Lums Pond.

Dear Hattie,
I know it is not normal to organize your Christmas list by height. However, if there is anyone on your list that is between 5'5" and 5'9"--and you really really love them, why not get them a bike for Christmas?

We have mostly mediums left from our 2009 rental fleet of Specialized FSR XC Comps, and they are going for $895, including shipping. All you'll need is a bow.

Take care,
Ashley

I will be attending this ride.  In order to be a part of Park Watch/National Mountain Bike Patrol you need to attend an orientation meeting with the state, take the online National Mountain Bike Patrol quiz with IMBA, get your CPR/First aid certification, attend this ride and then have an interview with a park ranger in the park you intend to patrol.

If you truly want to give back to the parks and help maintain a valuable resource that has been provided for us, this is worth it.
