Hello All,

My apologies for the late start in calling for volunteers for this
years race, but here we are. As most of you all know, our race is one
of the largest in the east and therefore requires a lot of help to be
successful. This is the clubs single largest event and yields the bulk
of our budget. Without which we could not fund our projects, donate to
the parks, plant trees, etc.. A small donation of your time on Sunday
July 13th will make sure that we can.

Typically, it takes 60 -70 people to run this race. We have a wide
range of jobs to be filled, so there is something for everyone (i.e.
no experience needed). Jobs include: section leaders, 2-3 folks to
work with the section leader, sweeps, help with registration, parking,
water stops, etc.. For any of you out there that haven't worked a race
it is a really fun day and a great way to meet some of the membership.
Racing on Sunday? Sign up to help work with a sect leader to get the
trails in shape before hand. Friends and family members welcome to
come out as well, in the past we've had families work a water stop
together, lots o' fun! So give a little of your time to help out and
help secure our access to these great parks we ride.

So PLEASE, contact me by e-mail: moran1900@... or through the
yahoo group if you are interested. I will need some contact info
(e-mail and cell#, this will NOT be posted) and what you might like to
do if you have a preference. I would like to get all of the section
leaders (~8) filled as soon as possible though. Thanks very much....
more to follow!!!

I just talked to Chuck who's been out trimmin' some of the trails at

  muddy.

The Tuesday evening Beginner ride is on! Leaves at 5:30 from the

Sounds like you're in the same boat I am. A decade ago I lived on my
bike, now I am trying to start riding again. I've been riding
whiteclay/ middle run a lot lately and have re-learned middle run. I
haven't had the opportunity to ride much at fairhill yet, but I have
a group that rides every Tuesday (not the trail spinners beginner
group) at Fairhill (normally) at 530pm. We also try to ride at
Middlerun every Sunday afternoon. Send me an e-mail if your
interested in joining, we have all skill levels.

We pretty much all ride on weekends. Many weekend rides are
announced in this group. With the exception of the Saturday beginner
ride after trail maintenance at White Clay Creek, there are no
regular weekend rides.

You have probably found the Delaware Trailspinners web site if you
found this group, but just in case:

www.trailspinners.org

Regular rides at Fair Hill are on Tuesday and Thursday.

Hi there,

I used to mtn bike very regularly about a decade ago, but somehow got
away from it and wound up spending the last several years riding my
mtn bike on the road. I refuse to buy a road bike. :)

Anyhow, I live 3 minutes from Fair Hill, and I'm looking for people to
ride with. I went out this past weekend and I was in heaven. Don't
know how I forgot what a joy it is. I have no idea how I would rate
my riding level, but I think I'm fairly strong and my technical skills
will take a little polishing up.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a group who rides on
weekends, that would be great.

Thanks!

Yes it’s true. We’re playing in the dirt tomorrow morning and teaching a
bunch of new riders how to bike safely in the afternoon! Come out to either or
both activities and enjoy the weather! I’m still trying to get through to
people on what tasks we’ll take on in the morning but it looks like either
de-burming some trails or adding to the “LOGZILLA” trail or both. Either
way bring gloves and water and we’ll see you at McGlynns a little before 9:00.

Head's up for folks who plan to ride in Middle Run on Saturday, April
19. We have been requested to not use the parking lot at Pike Creek
Bible Church due to a large event planned at the church. This is a one-
day event so please plan on parking somewhere else. You can park in the
McGlynn's parking lot and ride over to the trail head, use the day-use
parking lot across from the Bird Sanctuary or park in White Clay.

Also, please avoid changing clothes in the parking lot of the church.
Especially if this results in unseemly exposures. There are often
children present and the sight of some of you unclothed could mar them
for life.

The church has been and continues to be very supportive of our use of
their parking area. So please abide by their requests.

After some discussion, it looks like 5:30 PM will be a better time for
the official start of the weekly Tuesday and Thursday rides at Fair
Hill. Our webmeister has changed the DTS website to show this new time.
For folks who can make it, go ahead and meet at 5 PM for a little
warm-up. But many people simply can't make it out from work for a 5 PM
start. So see you tomorrow at North Appleton for the official start at
5:30 PM.
