Here’s a quick overview of everything water stop related.
I should be at Walls Hall around 6:30 AM getting my act together. Volunteers for water stops 1, 2, or 3 please arrive at Walls Hall around 7:00 AM. I’d like to be heading out to these 3 sites by 7:15 AM.
Water Stop 4 volunteers should be at Walls Hall around 8:30 AM with us leaving by 8:45 AM.
We’ll have First Aid kits at each site for racers to use. They should administer their own aid because of liability. We’ll have sheets with expected times for each groups arrival and how long they should be coming through. We’ll also have mileage to the finish for each group. We’ll have sheets with various contact information. Additional signage will be at your location for splits.
Water Stop 1 Volunteers should be done by 12:30 PM. You have the additional task of managing the Novice Split. Novices should be the last group to come through without any other riders mixed in. They should hit your station by 12:00 PM.
Water Stop 2 Volunteers should be done by 12:15 PM. You have the additional task of managing the Beginner Split. This split is a little more complicated because Endurance Racers and Beginners will be mixed. The good thing is Endurance Racers have an “E” on their plates and already went through once. Beginners should hit your station by 11:00 AM.
Water Stop 3 Volunteers should be done by 1:30 PM. You have the additional task of managing the Sport Split. This split is the most complicated because the faster sport racers will overlap the slower endurance racers and the faster experts will overlap the slower sport racers. So you’ll have to talk to the riders to make sure they stay on their course.
Water Stop 4 Volunteers should be done by 2:30 PM. You are at the Covered Bridge which is one of the road crossings. So we’ll have additional staffing helping with the road crossing.
Thanks
