Bay State Trail Riders Association, Inc. is the largest equine trails advocacy group in New England working to develop a region wide system of all purpose trails and keeping access open to equestrian use. This includes promoting responsible use of trails; fostering communications, cooperation and goodwill between trail users and landowners; preserving, clearing, rebuilding and maintaining trails; serving as a self-disciplining entity as well as a liaison group between trail users, landowners, governmental entities and other trail user groups to encourage and assist in the preparation of plans, surveys, studies and recommendations and to encourage citizen participation in the use and improvement of trails. BSTRA publishes a monthly newsletter that includes keeping members up to date on any issues that affect their horses or the keeping of their horses. Membership includes subscription to the Equine Journal. We offer a full calendar of events through out the year that the whole family can enjoy. We also have year end awards in various categories including the pleasure & competitive division, junior division and the volunteer award program.
