Firstly, Donna deserves a big round of applause
for the past weekend. She drove consistently and with
due respect for the other drivers. Well probably more
respect than some deserved !!

As Donna alluded to,
Ralph and I had our first rookie race this weekend. We
took the freshly rebuilt (from the ground up
patactically), and painted 2002 (The Mango), to a track I had
never driven, and Ralph had driven once in his M3 a
couple of years ago.

We both drove in the 3 hour
enduro,Ralph drove the Saturday race, and I drove the Sunday
race.

I first reaction to the weekend was...WOW, what a
test of fire !! 60 car fields, 30 second differentials
in lap times, crazy red-neck Mustang/Camaro guys
with depth-perception problems...
Actually, while
the CMC boys were a little 'erratic' with their
lines, it wasn't worse than I expected given the
situation we all were placed in.

Now the enduro was
another level all together. Imagine driving Skyline Blvd.
(the Peninsula of east Bay, it doesn't matter). Now
try it at, say 90mph..(well some don't need to
imagine )
Now turn off your lights !!
NOW add piles
of sand, oil and various small car parts to the
road, and your getting the picture.

The corners
were illuminated (if you can say that), by reflectors
around the apexes, on the inside and outside of the
ramble strips.
The trouble is, the first time you go
out in pitch darkness you dont realize immediately
that the reflector is on the OUTSIDE edge of the
rumble strip. Boy did I feel like a pinball for a while
!!

I posed the same question to Bora's BAM3 list. Jason B and Jeff S are up for it, but Chris C says the movie is really bad. I've added you to the cc list to...
Aaron Tachibana is holding a two-day DE event. Lots of seat time (usually six 20-min sessions per day). Cost is $385 for both days. Mostly Miatas but anyone is...
So I've decided to sell my E30 M3 (sob) to fund some Club Racing. It's an '88 with just under 89K miles on it. Excellent condition, LOTS of new parts, and very...

If you have to ask... <g> Seriously, with an overheating problem, there's no way to tell until it's opened up.

For $12k an E30M3 with 100k on it...
It'll cost you $4000 to find out (that's the teardown and rebuild). I'm in a holding pattern right now as it's being torn apart. Any more work or additional...
So, if the M3 is going I need another toy. Anybody have any experience with the new MR2 Spyder. It seems they're not as impossible to get as I thought and as a...
I've owned 3 MR2's over the years ('86, '89 Supercharged, '91 Turbo - the '86 was the most fun by far). Given that background, the new MR2 Spyder is pretty ...
I thought it was built the same way the S2000 was built. As an open unibody-construction(sp?) body.

S2K is very very stiff, I would expect the MR2spyder...
Maybe. I don't think any open-topped low -$20K car is going to be very stiff.

I don't want an S2K engine until they work out the, uhh, kinks. Besides, a...
Heh, funny. The 911 is intriguing, but I can't do it this time around. This year's racing budget has already been very spent on the M3 so I need something that...

Hi all. I've been out of the circle for the past few months, so I hope this question hasn't been recently answered. Also, this question isn't directly related...
