I live in Fairview Park (West side of Cleveland)and will be out of
town until Saturday about 7 p.m. Is there another running that could
pick up my packet and my out of state friends packet.

The towpath people say that Brandywine Ski Area is in Sagamore Hills. The Brandywine site itself gives its address as Sagamore Hills. But Mapquest says the same address is Northfield. My atlas shows these towns as two different places. Does anyone understand this?

Good question. If you find out, could you post it? :-)

Here are the restaurants that some people have emailed to me:
In Macedonia there is Casa D'Angelo
http://www.casadangelo.com/
Also one in Twinsburg - Cucina Pazzo
7995 Darrow Rd
Russo's is an excellent Italian/Cajun restaurant nearby. The chef
learned under Paul Prudhomme
4895 State Rd
We aren't sure where we're going yet, if anyone else has ideas please
let me know, there is at least 8 people in our party so I am planning
on deciding and calling in a reservation sometime this week.

* I tried posting before but it didn't seem to register, so if this is
a repeat - sorry. But I can pick up your race packet for you,
however, I am running the full. I think this year we start in a
different spot than the half does. I am not sure how far away this
is, from what I remember last year it can't be too far. But let me
know if you want me to pick it up for you, if you don't mind stopping
at the full marathon start to grab I would be happy to do it for
free. I hate packet pick ups too.

I can get the marathon packets for you, help out a fellow michigander
(even if you likely an east sider!). email me at Brianst@...
with you details.
Brian
I'm unable to pickup packet on Sat -- My sister-in-law & I are driving
from Michigan and won't arrive until Sat late -- Hoping someone can
pickup our two packets (marathon) and that we can meet Sun morning and
get our packets.... Your help would be MOST APPRECIATED. Alan & Natalie
I am not able to attend Saturday's packet pick-up and will pay $5.00 to
someone who can do that for me. I am disappointed in the organization
in having only one opportunity to pick up packets. Thanks for the help.
To the race organizers: Will there be pace wristbands available? i don't really
need pace
groups, but those wristbands are rather handy. Just curious.

In my opinion, you can. I think anything 26.2 miles or less is: 1/3
confidence, 1/3 motivation, and 1/3 conditioning. Not saying you
won't be sore the next day, but heck yeah you can do it.

This race has been confusing - I'm doing the Akron half this Sat, and
Detroit's half in Oct, so wanted to do what was advertised as the
Towpath 10k. Later on the website I saw it wasn't a 10K, but rather a
5.24 miler...Now it's totally cancelled.
I write this in hopes of reaching the organizers to lobby for a 10K
option next year. Since moving to NE Ohio I've noticed that this is
5k/triathalon country up here (neither of which I'm well suited for).
Planning Committee - Add a 10k in 2008?
Thank you, I will look into that because I had calf cramps again a
week ago on my first attempt at my last 20-miler. Inexplicably I was
able to do the 20 the following day with no cramps. ???
But I am worried abot the cramps and am eating 2 bananas a day to help
remedy the problem.
Brian there is a product on the market called S Caps made by a company called succeed or something like that. They replenish sodium, potassium and other electrolytes. They should minimize cramps.

I am trying to qualify for Boston (3:15 for my age) and at Cleveland I was running with a 3:20 group quite well until calf cramps got me after one too many hills and had to stop and stretch it out at mile 21.
Looking for help/running partners to help get me there.
I noticed it really helped a lot talking to others and finding out about everyone and why they are running. Makes the miles go a lot easier and meet some remarkable people.

Well, you've done a marathon. Only you really know the answer to this question.
But for what
it's worth, yeah you can do it!

You give different parking locations for the Half and the Full.
However, my car will have one person doing the Half, and another person
doing the Full. How do you suggest we handle it? Drop the person off
doing the Half, and then park at the parking lot for the Full? Seems
the parking lots are nearly 3 miles apart.
Just curious. Is anyone else staying at the Budget Inn? When I called
the Holiday Inn, they were booked. They gave me the name of another
hotel nearby (Comfort?) that was also booked. Finally I got a room at a
Budget Inn that is supposedly nearby. Anyone know how far this is from
the starting line?
