I ran the Towpath in the fall - it was my 1st marathon - and I was surprised at
how very flat the trail was! The fall colors and trees, water, trail, etc. are
absolutely extraordinary during that time of year in the area; very rich in
color. It was a beautiful distraction during the run :)
I can't speak to the "speed" of the route as this was my 1st marathon, but I can
say that the limestone did not produce as much impact on my knees as some other
substrates.
