Years ago on TOSRV, I made a pact with the two other guys I was riding with on
Friday night that we absolutely would not complain about anything on the ride;
headwinds, cold, heat, sore butts...NOTHING. The forecast was for pretty stinky
weather, and we were trying ti find a trick that might make thr agony we were
about to subject ourselves to a little more bearable. Instead of direct
complaints, we decided we could only complain in reverse, by wishing for more of
whatever it was that was bothering us. If it was the wind, we would say, "I wish
that the wind would shift just a few more degrees to the north, so that we could
really feel the full force of it..." or if it was hot, "If it was just five
degrees hotter, this would be perfect..." Getting creative about the complaint
sort of took our minds off what was actually bothering us. Okay, yeah, I
know...not really, but it was a nice try.

A radio for endurance athletes should be a rolling loop of a
motivational speaker shouting "You must love this,rain and headwinds
makes you stronger"...
