I am 45 and and carry more weight than I should. I had sold my road bike
thinking recumbent was the answer for my aching back. I have logged abour 750
miles on my Rans V2 and still average 25% below what I can on a rode bike
(bought new road bike this fall). The recumbent is fine (for me) for short solo
rides on mostly flat terrrain/bike paths but I would not take again on TOSRV. I
ran into several bikers my age and weight that love rheir 'bents though.
The best thing about 'bent is no hand, or neck pain, though I find my lower
back causing me trouble on rides >60 miles.

A quick question on recumbent bikes. I just got a Sun EZ Sport a good
month ago and have ridden it a good 20-30 miles now. Once you get
over the difference in ridding one. I have found it very easy to
ride. The one thing you notice is your speed. Question being is to
the ones that have ridden one on TOS. What is your take / input. Was
thinking about riding one next year in place of my road bike. I'll be
47 next year. Ya I know, I wish I was still 20 some thing. Thanks in
advance.
