Hi Kim,
I agree that you guys do the best job with those tracks. I don't blame
anyone for my minor accident. I was going so slow because I was pretty sure the
guy in front of me was going down...and he did that I just slid into the track
and actually didn't even fall since the tracks are so deep. it was and odd
feeling to be seated on my bike with my feet on the ground and my knees bent up.
I was lucky to have only minor damage to my wheel. I don't care how dorky my
friends think I look I will walk my bike over those tracks in the future if they
are uncovered. There is no shame in keeping your bike in one piece and I would
still rather have had my bike slip down into that track then risk hurting a
fellow rider by trying to ride over him.
Thanks for all you do to make this such a fun ride.

To Whom It May Concern,
Let me first introduce myself. I am Kim Bauer, Portsmouth Director. I have been
reading all of the concerns of the Rushtown Crossing. This has been a problem
area for decades. Over the years we have tried a number of things to insure the
safety of all TOSRV riders. Unfortunately, accidents do happen. This coming
TOSRV we will again try to have the tracks covered with a non-slip surface. We
will have a carpet/canvas covering the ride area. We will have to have this
manned the entire time this is covered in case of a train coming through that
area. If you do cross and the covering isn't there, that is an indication that
we ran short of a volunteer to be there to man the crossing.
We continue to try to take care of problems and address the needs of all TOSRV
riders. Have a good ride and we'll see you at Tracy Park.
Sincerely,
KimBauer
TOSRV - Portsmouth Director
