One of the things that gets me is that she tells a bald-faced lie in the
courtroom "thought she hit a sign".

Everyone in that room knew damn well it was a lie.

But they still let her get away with it.

Well, the important thing is that she got the vehicle with the leaky
windshield home so it would stay dry. If she had stayed at the scene think how
much water could have leaked into the car, possibly damaging the dashboard, or
get in the defroster vents. She had her priorities after all.
