Re: [TOSRV] Observations...

So, what is your point? Everyone knows TOSRV is a Double Century, regardless of
what the promotional material may or may not say, and that's all that really
matters.

Hi all:

I was perusing the history section of this web page; in particular
the official posters of each year.

Most all posters denote 210 total miles, except for 1972 and 1976
which does not state mileage. It isn't until 1998 that the mile total
is again left out, and 98 is what I refer to as the "dark era" when
Charlie wasn't tour director. Welcome back Charlie!

Looking at more recent tour posters, 2001 shows 210 miles, then years
2002, 2003, 2004 state 200 miles, the only known posters that ever
stated that mileage.

2005-2006 again restates 210 miles, perhaps reflecting the new route
change.

However......2007 does NOT state mileage anywhere that I can find, at
least on the decorative side...the information side may state
mileage. I will have to check the actual poster at another time.

Well, that is all I got for now. I will double check the patches for
any irregularities....

Tony

TOSRV is a double century only for the few who ride to Portsmouth and turn around to come back to Columbus the same day. The generally accepted definition of...

When I started riding TOSRV in 1971, we called it a Double Century because it was 200 miles in a weekend, regardless of the time it took to ride it. You can...
