Hill climb categories do not have literal translations. The ratings are
primarily used in French races (most notably, the Tour de France
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tour_de_France> ). For example, HC is used to
describe a climb that is "beyond categorization", an incredibly tough climb.
Most climbs are designated from Category 1 (hardest) to Category 5 (easiest),
based on both steepness and length. A climb that is harder than Category 1 is
designated as hors catégorie.
The climbs are categorized by the length, grade of ascent and also relative to
the stage being ridden.

Subject: [TOSRV] Category Hill Climbs
In the tour, the hills were mostly referenced by a category, usually 1 -
5, and HC. What are grades associated with each of the category
ratings. Would it be Category 1 = 1%, Category 2 = 2%, and so on?
