Wow, that's a huge question - it can vary so much depending on the team's
sponsors and goals. And there is so much more to getting into the tour than
just 'sponsoring a team'. Especially now with the new Pro Tour where the
teams have to show up for ALL the races all season instead of picking /
choosing what works into their schedule / budget. And right now, the only
way into the Pro Tour is for another team to leave the Pro Tour.

Off the top of my head, and I have not seen any numbers on this, but at a
minimum I would guess a team budget would need to start at over $10 million.


Bikes? at least two per rider - TT and Road. I expect most riders have at
least 3 - adding a spare road bike. Plus a bazzilion spare wheels / tires /
parts / jerseys / shorts / helmets / gloves / etc.
