The Topeka ScareCrows of the United States Hockey
League announced today that defenseman Peter Fruhauf has
been named to the Slovka National Junior Team which
will take part in the World Junior Championships from
December 25, 2001-January 4, 2002 in the Czech Republic.
<br><br>Fruhauf, 20, a native of Presov, Slovak Republic, will
leave Topeka on December 15, 2001 for the
Pre-Championship Training Camp in the Slovak Republic. <br><br>"It
is an honor to represent my country at the World
Junior Championships," Fruhauf said. "I'm looking
forward to going back home and playing near Slovakia so
my family gets a chance to see me." <br><br>"This is
a great accomplishment for Peter," head coach Bliss
Littler said. "The World Junior Championships is the
biggest hockey tournament next to the World Championships
and the Olympics, so for one of Topeka's own players
to participate in this tournament is a very big
deal."
