ScareCrows <br><br>Preseason action<br>The ScareCrows
schedule was released last week with the first game of the
season slotted for Sept. 29 at Landon Arena versus Sioux
City. <br>There will also be preseason ice action for
the 'Crows as the team journeys to the Des Moines Buc
Bowl Sept. 13-16 and to the Cedar Rapids Preseason
Tournament Sept. 20-23. Many of the USHL teams will be
attending both tournaments. <br><br>A full preseason
schedule with times and opponents will be released at a
later date.<br><br>'Crows in the community<br>The
ScareCrows have had a busy summer in the Kansas heat
attending many community events. On July 18, head
coach/general manager Bliss Littler played 100 holes of golf to
raise money for the Topeka Boys and Girls Club ... On
Saturday, the Crows staff will have an informational booth
in Lawrence at the Kansas Sunflower Games ... The
informational booth will also be at the Shawnee County Fair all
weekend (July 19-22) ... Littler will also be playing
golf in the Topeka Youth Project 1st Annual Golf
Tournament on Monday ... Littler will be visiting with kids
at the Shawnee County Day Camp on Tuesday where he
will discuss the new team and go over the "rules of
the game".<br><br>Butch Johnson
visiting<br>ScareCrows owner and president Butch Johnson will be
visiting Topeka Aug. 7-9. Johnson will be visiting with
local community members and will also attend a luncheon
and after-work social hour hosted by the ScareCrows
on Aug. 8. <br><br>Contact the ScareCrows if

open<br>Once again the ScareCrows will open the Crows Nest in
the West Ridge Mall. The store will be located on the
upper level center court next to Sears. Apparel and
gift items will go on sale starting Oct. 1. During the
grand opening, ScareCrows players will be available for
autographs.<br><br>Junior Hockey News on stands<br>The Junior Hockey News,
a magazine solely dedicated to coverage of junior
hockey, is available at the ScareCrows office at Landon
Arena and at the following sports stores: Dick's,
Ballard's, Team Sporting Goods and Asay's. The next issue of
The Junior Hockey News will be available starting
Aug. 9.
