SCARECROWS SIGN TWO<br>G Caravaggio, LW Goldie
join 'Crows for 2000-01 season<br><br>TOPEKA, KS - The
Topeka ScareCrows announced today the signings of G
Luciano Caravaggio (care-a-va-ge-o) and LW Jeff Goldie.
Both players were members of the New Mexico Scorpions
(WPHL) Western Division championship team that fell just
short of winning the WPHL championship last season.
<br><br>"We're very excited to get both of these players," said
ScareCrows Head Coach Paul Kelly. "Jeff is a power forward
who can score and Luciano is an All-Star, who my
contacts said was the best goaltender in the WPHL last
season."<br><br>Caravaggio, an Etobicoke, Ontario native, has played in the
ECHL (Pee-Dee Pride and Wheeling Nailers) and the WPHL
(New Mexico Scorpions). In three seasons, he has
played in 119 games and has a 3.23 goals against
average. Caravaggio, a 1999-2000 WPHL All-Star, has a .898
save percentage. A 1994-draft pick of the New Jersey
Devils, he has five career assists. He played for
Michigan Tech from 1993-96.<br><br>A Leith, Ontario
native, Goldie spent the last two seasons with the New
Mexico Scorpions. In 137 games, he had 51 goals and 49
assists. Goldie (6'3", 215) has 65 career penalty minutes.
In 15 playoff games, he has 15 points (6g, 9a). A
lefty, Goldie played two seasons at the University of
Waterloo, where he had 69 points in 46 games.<br><br>The
ScareCrows now have nine players signed for the 2000-2001
season.
