Another classic Glavine gem tonight.
Tom pitched 8 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, striking out 6
and walking 1 in a 5-2 win over the Nationals.
And, he went 2-2 at the plate.
Awesome job by Tommy!
The win moves him to 12-13 on the year and lowers his era to 3.69.
Also, it's win number 274 for his career which puts him 29th on the
all-time wins list. It's also the 30th win against the Nats/Expos.
He has beaten them more times than he has beaten any other team and
more than any other pitcher in history has.
Let's see, what else? Oh, this is the 9th straight start Tom has
made where he has given up 3 or fewer runs.
Geez, has he been on a tear or what? He's been simply awesome. It's
been so much fun to watch.
Tom should have one more start on the season (agains the rockies)
and if he wins that one, that would pull his record to 13-13 on the
season and give him 275 career wins. Gee, that'd be nice, wouldn't
it?
