Re: Glavine tribute montage

I should specify that Tom has a no trade clause in his contract so
he can veto any potential trade that came up. So basically, he can
decide where he gets traded.

Probably the only teams he would really agree to get traded to are
the Braves or the Red Sox...and I guess the Yankees since they are
right there in NY too.

Definitely won't see him heading out to the west coast or anything
(Much to my phoenix-living self's chagrin)

Here's an article about it:

http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/ny-
spmside064332828jul06,0,1374044.story?coll=ny-baseball-headlines

I'm conflicted. I don't know what I want him to do at this point. I
want him to stay with the Mets b/c I don't want him leaving on
a "low" note. I want him to be able to be successful there. (Ok, and
there is that selfish part of me that looks at the schedule and
knows that the Mets are coming to Phoenix in August and I've been
looking forward to this since the beginning of the year since it
would give me the opportunity to see Tom pitch in person again) On
the other hand, his time there hasn't been...what I'm sure he's
expected so it might be good for him to get out. (change of scenery
thing) Plus, a lot of fans seem to want him gone. I'd love to see
him rejoin the Braves and finish his career there. He spent so long
there, I know they are still in his heart. Yet, a lot of the fans
were quick to turn on him, and I didn't like how the organization
handled his contract negotiations. Still, it'd be really cool to
see. But would the Mets trade with the Braves, considering they are
in the same division? I dunno. The Red Sox...I bet he'd like playing
there, since he grew up in the area...But I think they are pretty
set as far as pitching goes so I'm not sure that'd happen. The
Yankees...Yanks would be good in the sense that he already has a
house in the area but I can't say I'm too "excited" thinking about
him playing for the Yanks.

So, of course that's where he'll end up. LOL. j/k. I don't know. I
guess at this point, IF, IF, IF, he ends up getting traded
somewhere, I just want it to be to a place where he's going to be
comfortable, be happy and be successful. Whether that will happen
with him staying with the Mets or going elsewhere. I just want that
to happen.
